BirdLife International is currently looking for someone to fill the position of the Ecosystem Services Officer. The person should lead and develop the science underpinning BirdLife’s work on ecosystem services, providing technical support for the BirdLife Partnership.
BirdLife International is the world’s largest nature conservation partnership. Through their unique local-to-global approach, they deliver high impact and long-term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.
BirdLife’s work on ecosystem services focuses on using ecosystem service assessments to improve conservation outcomes, primarily by applying the Toolkit for Ecosystem Service Site-based Assessments (TESSA). The person will support the implementation of ongoing BirdLife projects using TESSA and develop new initiatives that integrate ecosystem services and natural capital into BirdLife’s Programmes.
The person will act as the focal point for ecosystem services work across the BirdLife Secretariat, the role requires someone who can develop and maintain strong working relationships internally and externally, keep abreast of emerging best practice and scientific research and build the capacity of the Partnership in this work area.
