ECOSERV 2020/2021 – 6th Scientific Symposium ‘Ecosystem services in transdisciplinary approach’ – took place on July 7-9 in Poznań, Poland. The Symposium was organized by the ESP Poland National Network and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, this time as part of the 3rd World Conference of the Society for Urban Ecology. We were glad that the conference was attended by over 300 participants representing 36 countries from 6 continents. In participants’ opinion, we had three very rewarding days, filled with inspiring plenary keynotes, high level of thematic sessions with interesting presentations.
The ECOSERV 2020/2021 keynote speaker, Rudolf de Groot, presented reflection on the implementation of ecosystem services concept in policy and practice. Thematic sessions covered services of different ecosystems, specific ecosystem services in urban areas, ecosystem services in environmental management & planning, as well as valuation of socio-cultural services.
