(사)생태계서비스파트너십(ESP) 아시아사무소

생태계서비스파트너십(Ecosystem Services Partnership, ESP)은 생태계보전과 지속가능한 발전을 위하여 2008년 미국에서 창립된 생태계서비스 전문가단체입니다. 본부는 네덜란드에 있으며 현재 회원은 전 세계 85개국의 2800여명의 생태계서비스 전문가로 구성되어 있습니다.
ESP는 생태계서비스 연구, 정책개발, 현장 이행 지원을 위하여 대륙별, 국가별, 지역별 네트워크를 활성화하고, 생태계서비스 전문 지식과 분야별 프로젝트 경험을 기반으로 정부, 산업계, 연구기관 간 협력사업을 지원하고 있습니다.

생태계서비스파트너십(ESP) 아시아사무소는 제1회 생태계서비스파트너십 아시아총회(‘16.05.30~06.03)에 참석한 22개국 참가자들이 합의하여, 한국 DMZ와 같은 단절된 생태계를 공존의 생태공간으로 연결될 수 있기를 바라며 경기도 DMZ일원에 설립되었습니다.
ESP 아시아사무소는 DMZ를 포함한 아시아지역의 환경보전, 자연기반 해결책 및 지속가능한 발전을 위한 생태계서비스 기반연구, 정책 개발 및 이행방안을 지원하고 아시아권 생태계서비스 네트워크 구축과 협력을 지원하고 있습니다.

 

ESP아시아사무소는 국내 전문가로 구성된 운영위원회(Executive Committee)와 총회 개최지 등을 중심으로 국외 전문가로 구성된 자문위원회(Steering Committee)가 있습니다.(2년 임기, 연임 가능)
