Special Issue on Multifunctional Agroecosystems in Mediterranean Landscapes

November 19, 2020 by Iskra Categories: Collaboration calls, News, Publications

The Special Issue on “Multifunctional Agroecosystems in Mediterranean Landscapes” in the journal Land is now open for submission. The SI focuses on the assessment of agroecosystem services and associated benefits, identification of trade-offs and synergies arising from the management of agroecosystems, and the assessment of the impact of local and landscape factors on agroecosystems and co-benefits to biodiversity and people. Interested authors are invited to contribute to these themes and to evaluate how the management of Mediterranean landscapes impacts on the multifunctionality of agroecosystems.

Call for papers: Special Collection on MAES in EU overseas

November 19, 2020 by Iskra Categories: Collaboration calls, News, Publications

Title: Methods, tools, and applications for Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystems and their Services (MAES) supporting decision making in EU Outermost Regions (ORs) and Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs)

This Special Collection deals with the European Union’s Outermost Regions (ORs) and European Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs), which face specific developmental obstacles as well as serious environmental issues with relevant socio-economic impacts, such as climate change, environmental degradation, land-use change, coastal erosion and loss of biodiversity. Articles to appear in this One Ecosystem Special Issue aim at fostering robust, novel, and cost-effective MAES-related approaches, strategies and applications in the EU’s ORs and OCTs. Special Issue: Ecosystem Services from Natural Resources Managed by the Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities

October 20, 2020 by ESP secretariat Categories: Collaboration calls, News, Publications

This special issue in the journal Sustainabliy targets to highlight the contributions that indigenous peoples and local communities make to the wider global community for better recognition and support for their efforts. The editors invite articles addressing:
1. IPLCs land/water/sea management and related ecosystem services (ES)
2. Case studies on Payments for ES (PES) of IPLCs’ managed natural resources
3. Stewardship mechanisms (reviews/comments)
4. ES from agricultural lands managed by the small-scale farmers, applying traditional practices [Read more…] about Special Issue: Ecosystem Services from Natural Resources Managed by the Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities
