ECOSERV 2018 proved to be an excellent occasion to bring together scientists and practitioners from different countries and exchange experience on mapping, assessment and implementation of ES. The Symposium gathered 100 participants from 14 countries of Europe and Asia. Special Guests of ECOSERV 2018 – Benjamin Burkhard and Marcus Erhard – presented the state of art in Europe and activities on European Union level. The thematic sessions have been devoted to urban ES, forest ES, cultural ES, mapping of ES, assessment of ES, and methods in general. Some presentations considered ES assessment on national level, e.g. Russia, Lithuania, Germany, Czech Republic. Several presentation included regional and local level, e.g. cases from Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Turkey, Finland, Russia, Germany, Estonia, Italy, Austria, Japan.
