Spatial Regional Models

  • Artificial Intelligence for Ecosystems (ARIES) 
ARIES is a new methodology and web application meant to assess the ecosystem services and illuminate their values to humans in order to make environmental decision-making more effective.
  • Advanced Terrestrial Ecosystem Analysis and Modelling (ATEAM)
ATEAM’s main objective is to assess and model the vulnerability of human sectors relying on ecosystem services provided by major European terrestrial ecosystems with respect to global change.
  • Australian Connectivity Interface (Aus-ConnIe)
Aus-ConnIe has been developed as a tool for environmental scientists and managers to investigate the large-scale patterns of spatial connectivity around Australia.
  • Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST)
InVEST can model and map the delivery, distribution, and economic value of ecosystem services. This tool helps users visualize the impacts of potential decisions, identifying tradeoffs and compatibilities between environmental, economic, and social benefits.
  • Conversion of Land use and Its Effects (CLUE)
CLUE is a spatially explicit model for the analysis of Land Use Change and its Effects.
  • Models for Integrated Review and Assessment of Biodiversity in European Landscapes (MIRABEL)
It is an integrated conceptual framework to analyze the consequences of environmental change for biodiversity in Europe.
  • Patuxent Landscape Model (PLM)
It is a spatially explicit landscape simulation model designed to analyse the physical and biological dynamics of the Patuxent Watershed, conditioned on the socio-economic behaviour of the region.
  • SAVANNA – Landscape and Regional Ecosystem Model
Savanna is a spatially explicit, process-oriented landscape model of grassland, shrubland, savanna and forested ecosystems.
  • CLIMSAVE Platform
CLIMSAVE is an interactive, exploratory, web-based tool for assessing climate change impacts and vulnerabilities on a range of ecosystem services related to the following sectors, agriculture, forests, biodiversity, coasts, water resources and urban development. The Platform integrates a suite of sectoral models to simulate spatially the negative or positive effects of different climate and socio-economic scenarios on ecosystem service and sectoral indicators across Europe, allowing the evaluation of cross-sectoral benefits, conflicts and trade-offs.
