Second National Ecosystem Accounting Germany Conference in Hannover
Between 8 to 9 November 2021, the second National Ecosystem Accounting Germany Conference took place in Hannover, Germany as a cooperation between the EU Horizon 2020 project MAIA, the Leibniz University Hannover, the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development, the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation and the Federal Statistical Office.
On the first Conference day, the newly adapted SEEA EA standard and its implication for the German Ecosystem Accounting were the focus of discussion. Ongoing project work as well as an overview of the recent results of the German Ecosystem Accounting progress were also presented. Assessing socio-economic impacts of a network
The network of Justice and Environment has been operating for around 20 years with the mission to improve EU environmental laws and their implementation for the benefit of the environment and people across Europe. While their two decades of work resulted in many policy outputs and successes, systematic organizational screening of their impact has not yet been carried out (similarly to most organizations – mostly due to the complexity of the task). In order to have a better understanding of how the members consider the impacts of the organization and what future directions they regard important, Ecosystem Valuation set up an initial impact framework and compiled a relevant questionnaire. Postdoc in natural capital accounting-ARIES Project
The ARIES team is adding a new position to expand the scope of models and accounts included in ARIES for SEEA: Postdoc in natural capital accounting.
The team is also hiring for new positions in machine learning, semantics, and will also post two new software developer positions here in early December.
