E-module on Urban Green Spaces

The University of Twente ITC together with Tropenbos Suriname developed this e-module on urban green spaces in the tropics in the context, and using the results, of their UTSN Twinning project on “Towards a green and more livable Paramaribo”.

This digital learning module was developed by university teachers and researchers with the aim of giving students a solid introduction to urban green planning and management, the functions and benefits of green spaces in the city, and the measurement and evaluation of planning options. Post-doctoral position on Mainstreaming biodiversity and ecosystem services in spatial planning and policy-making
The PLANES Lab of the University of Trento invites applications for a 2-year (renewable up to 4 years) Post-doctoral researcher working on 2 projects funded by Horizon Europe on ecosystem services and biodiversity values in spatial planning and policies. The projects are large collaborative initiatives involving many top-level institutions in the EU.

PhD position on Nature-based solutions and biodiversity values in spatial planning
The PLANES Lab is also recruiting a strongly motivated PhD student (with full scholarship) to conduct research on “Furthering nature-based solutions and biodiversity values in spatial planning tools and practice”, in the framework of a new EU-funded research project. Where and why do the benefits of biodiversity for ecological and human health arise and how can they be achieved? How and where can transformative change enable these benefits, including ensuring justice and equity?  How can human-nature health solutions be developed? How can the adoption of these transformative biodiversity and human health solutions by society and communities be achieved, for example by transforming food systems?
