The ReNature project has just launched an open call for participation in the ReNature 2nd Interdisciplinary Training School on Nature-based Solutions. The training school will take place 15-18 March 2021.

The ReNature 2nd Interdisciplinary Training School aims to provide participants with an understanding of the opportunities to mainstream nature-based solutions in urban planning and to design nature-based solutions that provide co-benefits to biodiversity and ecosystem services, leading to an improvement in human well-being. Save the date: 8th session of the IPBES Plenary

The IPBES Bureau, at its 15th meeting, considered the extraordinary situation caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the implementation of the IPBES work programme and the hosting of the eighth session of the IPBES Plenary (IPBES 8) in Marrakech, Morocco. After careful consideration and consultations, the Bureau decided that IPBES 8 would be postponed from January/February 2021 to 14-24 June 2021 and be held as an online meeting. It will be preceded by online regional consultations and stakeholder day(s) (information on the time and date of these events will follow in due course).

Announcing ACES 2021 Preview: A Web-Based Symposium

The program and steering committees are excited to announce “A Community on Ecosystem Services 2021 Preview.” We would like to take this opportunity to engage with the ACES community on the vision and plans for ACES 2021; connect ACES to new communities with like interests; and highlight early career ecosystem services researchers. This virtual program will take place December 16-17, 2020 and will include five sessions.

Landscape Ecology Summer School Series funded by VW Foundation

The VW-summer school series intends to train participants on the knowledge and skills of how landscape ecology can contribute to improving the status of achieving the SDGs and the AU Agenda 2063 objectives. The first summers school in 2021 will relatively be more generic focusing on conceptual issues of landscape ecology and its nexus with SDGs and the overall development agenda in Africa.
