Call for papers for a special issue with Frontiers, a leading Open Access and Open Science Platform. The focus of this special issue is Water-Gender-Migration: The Complex Nexus and Interlinkages. The special issue is a collaboration between experts from Global South and Global North and institutions of repute, including Ghent University, Cadi Ayyad University (Morocco), and Global Water Partnership and UNU  INWEH.

The submission deadline for abstracts is 22 February 2021, and for manuscripts – 23 June 2021.  You can submit your work here.

Survey on the use of IPBES assessments in policymaking at (sub)national levels

This information will allow IPBES to understand if and how its assessments have been used to support policymaking and what tools, methodologies and types of activities could further support the use of IPBES assessments and thereby contribute to the advancement of the IPBES policy support function. Global consultation on SEEA EA complete draft

The global consultation on the complete draft of the System Environmental-Economic Accounting—Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA EA) has been launched and is ongoing until 30 November 2020.

The System Environmental-Economic Accounting—Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA EA) aims to provide a standardized methodology for ecosystem accounting. The complete draft of the document reflects the contribution of a large number of experts that have contributed in kind drafting parts of the document, providing inputs during the global consultation on the substantive chapters and actively contributing to the discussions during the various sessions of the Forum of Experts on Ecosystem Accounts, the London Group on Environmental Economic Accounting, the bilateral consultations. Special Feature on Conservation of Cultural Ecosystems

Special Feature on conservation of cultural ecosystems ‘The biodiversity and ecosystem service provision of semi-natural anthropogenic ecosystems and natural ecosystems’ is open for abstract submissions until the 30th of November. The goal of this Special Feature is to share and integrate perspectives from natural scientists and social scientists on if and how the biodiversity and ecosystem service provision of semi-natural anthropogenic ecosystems can be conserved.

Special Issue on Multifunctional Agroecosystems in Mediterranean Landscapes

The Special Issue on “Multifunctional Agroecosystems in Mediterranean Landscapes” in the journal Land is now open for submission. The SI focuses on the assessment of agroecosystem services and associated benefits, identification of trade-offs and synergies arising from the management of agroecosystems, and the assessment of the impact of local and landscape factors on agroecosystems and co-benefits to biodiversity and people. Interested authors are invited to contribute to these themes and to evaluate how the management of Mediterranean landscapes impacts on the multifunctionality of agroecosystems.
