Journal of the Bulgarian Geographical Society Enters Q3 in Scopus

The Journal of the Bulgarian Geographical Society received its first journal ranking from the Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR) where scientific indicators are developed from the information contained in the Scopus database. According to current SJR ranking JBGS enters Q3 and Q4 in four subject categories where indexed: Geography, Planning and Development; Earth and Planetary sciences (miscellaneous); Ecological Modelling; and Nature and Landscape Conservation. The Economics of Land Degradation Initiative (ELD) secretariat, in cooperation with the the Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF), are looking for an Environmental Economist to join their team and Working Group as an Integrated Expert at the ICRAF headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. Events for GeoNight2024 on scientific publishing held by the BGS and YESS

Two events on scientific publishing were jointly organised by the Bulgarian Geographical Society (BGS) and Young ES Specialists (YESS), during this year’s edition of GeoNight2024 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Ecosystem Services Valuation Database (ESVD) team recently completed the third project for the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV), reached the 10.000 values and published a 10 year jubilee paper. In their upcoming webinar set to take place on 24 April 2024, 14:00 CET they will give a brief overview of the new data and functionalities as part of the LNV project, showcase policy applications of the ESVD and give insight in future plans in the context of the increasing demand for open-source and robust data on the economic value of nature at all levels of decision-making.
