The Interdisciplinary Centre for Mountain Research (CIRM) offers a position of First Assistant (Post-doc) on Mountain Socio-Ecological Systems. Deadline to apply is 31 July, 2020.

The University of Lausanne (UNIL) is a higher teaching and research institution composed of seven faculties where nearly 15,500 students and 5,000 employees. Ideally situated along the lake of Geneva, near Lausanne’s city center, its campus brings together over 120 nationalities. The Wild Postcard Project – art competition aims to showcase Irish and Dutch biodiversity

The Wild Postcard Project first launched in 2016 in Ireland. Since its inception, the Wild Postcard Project held competitions in the Philippines (2017), Madagascar (2018), Canada (2018) and Ireland (2019), with thousands upon thousands of entries received and the winning artworks proudly displayed on our website and sent as postcards around the world.

Currently the project is holding two competition – in Ireland and the Netherlands. The competitions are calling for kids and teens (ages 5-18) to create and submit artworks that depict Irish or Dutch biodiversity respectively. The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic is impacting increasingly on global health with significant social and economic consequences. Our research aims to collect information from residents aged 18 or older living in or near coastal areas around the world who are affected by COVID-19. The findings will increase understanding about how interacting with the natural environment in coastal areas may influence human health and wellbeing and help us identify solutions to help people cope with pandemics. Survey: The value of public green spaces in times of Covid-19

Public green spaces provide essential benefits supporting people’s health and well-being as well as triggering environmental attachment and stewardship, eventually resulting in a positive impact on the ecosystem as a whole.
