Call for valuation studies to update the ESVD

April 17, 2019 by Iskra Categories: Collaboration calls, News

The Ecosystem Services Valuation Database (ESVD) hosted by the ESP is one of the most comprehensive global databases of ecosystem service values but has not been updated since 2010. This widely used resource needs to be updated and upgraded to reflect the huge number of new valuation studies and developments in the field during the past 10 years. ESP is starting the process of updating and upgrading the ESVD and therefore requests members to send valuation studies to be included. Relevant valuation studies should:

  • Use a primary valuation method (i.e. not value/benefits transfer)
  • Estimate the monetary value of an ecosystem service(s)
  • Be for ANY biome/ecosystem/habitat etc.
  • Be from ANY location/country/region etc.

Please send full text valuation studies (preferably pdf) to [email protected]. This call for valuation studies will remain open until the end of 2019.

Leading Chapter 2 of the report (accessible here), she has outlined a narrative of how physical and environmental dimensions in water management can be better tackled in an increasingly globalized world. The chapter also highlights incorporating ecological service aspects [Read more…] about World Water Development Report 2019 with input from ESP sectoral WG 5
