The COST Action Payments for Ecosystem Services (Forest for water) is organising its first training school on the topic: Environmental effectiveness of forest PES schemes to reduce agricultural diffuse pollution to water. The deadline for application is 15 August 2018, travel and subsistence grants of up to 800 Euros will be available for around 18 participants.
The training school will focus on these specific sub-topics:
- Evidence for the effectiveness of woodland measures for reducing a range of agricultural diffuse pollutants
- Models and decision support tools for managing agricultural diffuse pollution
- Training on SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) hydrological model
The training school is intended for those involved in work directly related to the COST Action CA15206, PESFOR-W. PhD students and early stage postdoctoral workers are especially encouraged to attend, as well as those who wish to improve their skills on PES schemes relating to
forests and water. The training will focus on woodland creation measures, evidence base casestudies, the application of hydrological-models and guidance on spatial targeting, design and management of measures.
The training school will be limited to 18 participants.
Travel and subsistence grants of up to 800 Euros will be available for around 18 participants.
