UBC is seeking graduate students. Ranked in the top ten globally for environmental and ecological studies, this institute is deeply interdisciplinary, problem focused, solutions oriented, and curiosity driven. This postdoc position aims at contributing such modelling work to a series of externally funded projects. The overall aim is to advance our methods for addressing socio-ecological systems. Landscape Ecology Summer School Series funded by VW Foundation

The VW-summer school series intends to train participants on the knowledge and skills of how landscape ecology can contribute to improving the status of achieving the SDGs and the AU Agenda 2063 objectives. The first summers school in 2021 will relatively be more generic focusing on conceptual issues of landscape ecology and its nexus with SDGs and the overall development agenda in Africa. Protect-Streams-4-Sea: New project utilizing nature based solutions in the Black Sea

The project “Protecting streams for a clean Black Sea by reducing sediment and litter pollution with joint innovative monitoring and control tools and nature-based practices (BSB963)” with the acronym “Protect-Streams-4-Sea” started on July 20th 2020. The total duration of the project will be 24 months. It aims to the protection of the Black Sea from litter and sedimentation using innovative monitoring and control tools, such as fingerprint method, drone mapping, etc.

The project includes partners from Greece, Turkey, Romania, Moldova, and Armenia.
