IPBES gave a start to the external review for the first order drafts of the chapters of the IPBES methodological assessment regarding the diverse conceptualization of multiple values of nature and its contributions, including biodiversity and ecosystem functions and services (IPBES values assessment).

The COST Action PESFOR-W (Payments for Ecosystem Services – Forests for Water) provides conference grants aimed at supporting researchers from Participating Inclusiveness Target Countries to attend high profile international science and technology-related events not specifically organised by the Action.

ESP Asia Office starts preparing the special issue of Ecosystem Services to compile research outcomes of ES professionals in Asia.
This idea was brought up last year during 2018 ESP Asia Conference in India and our Asian partners stressed the importance of compiling research outcomes and ES policy practices in Asian countries. This initiative will also contribute to engaging interdisciplinary researchers into adopting ecosystem services approach and supporting collaboration of ES researchers in Asia.

The International Institute (IHI) Zittau, TU Dresden, Germany is now accepting applications for the international Masters programme on Ecosystem Services. The programme is devoted to understanding the causes of biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation as well as to analysing their impacts on ecosystem functioning and human well-being in an interdisciplinary manner.
