The 6th International EcoSummit Congress, EcoSummit 2020 – Building a sustainable and desirable future: Adapting to a changing land and sea-scape, will take place at The Gold Coast Convention Centre, Gold Coast, Australia, from 21st – 25th June 2020.
EcoSummit 2020 will have a focus on coastal and marine ecosystems including adjacent terrestrial ecosystems and all habitats that are integrated within those ecosystems, including river networks, wetlands and catchments. Members of the BWG5 will host a session in the upcoming 2019 ESP World conference about “integration of methodological approaches to evaluate ecosystem services’ dynamics”. Come and join us to present your work about how the integration of multiple approaches can help to improve assessments of ecosystem services in complex socio-ecological systems. Our session will include different oral presentations and an interactive discussion for developing more solid and robust assessments in this specific socio-ecological context in the future. Besides, anyone interested in contributing to the Mediterranean ecosystem services working group is also very welcome to participate in the session. We are particularly looking forward to discussing with colleagues from ESP working groups on mapping, modeling and indicators. The call for abstracts is open now and until 10th June.
We kindly invite you to the Interdisciplinary Summerschool on Integrating Ecosystem Services into Urban Planning, which will take place in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic, 3rd week of June 2019.
News frequently report about “European heat wave”, “natural disaster”, or “species extinction”. Such issues are the consequences of urbanization and land use intensification; they show how far we are apart from a sustainable use of nature. These challenges can be counteracted by two innovative concepts, namely on ecosystem services and green infrastructure.
