Summer School – Land Use and Ecosystem Change

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) will run an international Summer School on the topic of land use and ecosystem change during at the KITCampus Alpin, IMK-IFU (Garmisch-Partenkirchen), from 20-27 August 2019. Master and doctoral students are invited to learn about and discuss a wide range of issues related to ecosystem functioning, socio-ecological systems and land use change. Call for Workshop Host- Financing options for greener cities

ICLEI European secretariat in cooperation with the EKLIPSE project and NATURVATION project are searching for a South-Eastern European municipality to host a two-day capacity-building workshop titled: Financing Greener Cities – “Exploring financing options for greener cities; Strengthening the capacity of local stakeholders to explore appropriate financing arrangements for nature-based interventions.”

With this call the organisers would like to invite local governments to apply for hosting this workshop in which several municipal representatives, researchers and civil society organisations will take part. São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Scenarios and Modelling on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services to Support Human Well-Being

The “São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Scenarios and Modelling on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services to Support Human Well-Being” will be held in São Pedro (190 km from São Paulo) from 01 – 15 July 2019. Applications are open until February 28th.

Rather than advancing scientific and methodological development, this School proposes to favor the interface between policy and decision making, so there will be an emphasis on the discussion of real cases. The school is organized into four modules that involve conceptual discussions, challenges, analysis of global studies and national goals in the field of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
