Course on Integrating Natural Capital into Investment Decisions

CSF will be teaching an in-person course on Integrating Natural Capital into Investment Decisions, on November 8th and 9th at Conservation International Headquarters in Washington, DC. Value Commission Public Consultation Launch

The Value Commission is a three-year collaborative project hosted by Capitals Coalition, which brings together Commissioners from around the world to drive transparency and accountability across the application and use of value factors.

The Commission is launching a public consultation for the co-design and development of transparent global criteria for the creation and use of value factors and consolidating existing efforts into an open-access platform.

Webinar: Traditional knowledge for financial stability

Sustainable Finance for Biodiversity (SF4B) will hold a webinar on traditional knowledge for financial stability, with guest speaker Kamaljit Sangha – Associate Professor in Ecological Economics at Charles Darwin University and long standing ESP member. The event will take place 24 August 2023, 16h (CET), 9h (COL), 11h (São Paulo); with interpretation in Spanish, Portuguese and English.

Millennia-old traditional knowledge has proven to align with planetary boundaries and enable stability. These inspiring practices offer sustainable ways to address biodiversity loss and the climate change crisis, bringing together indigenous , local communities’ and investors’ interests. Nevertheless, mainstreamed sustainable finance discourses continue to place their hopes on Western science-based information, often navigating political compromises.
