Helping nature to help us: that is the main idea behind the first European conference on ecosystem services. Between 19 and 23 September, more than 500 participants from all over the world will make their way to the University of Antwerp to debate and learn more about how nature contributes to human well-being and vice versa.

The Call for Abstracts for the 14th International Conference on Sustainable Use and Management of Soil, Sediment and Water Resources – AquaConSoil 2017 (Lyon,France 26–30 June 2017) is now open.
The Programme Committee cordially invites those who wish to contribute to the conference to submit an abstract for – an oral presentation for the regular Thematic Sessions, – a poster presentation or – a proposal for a complete Free Session. An international three day workshop on the topic of “Sustainability Challenges and Solutions in Post 2015 Development” will take place on the 1-3 November 2016 at the University of Gujrat, Punjab Pakistan. The organizers will pay the travelling costs, arranged accommodation and food for these three days for 10 international participant.

The next biannual conference of the European Society for Ecological Economics will be organized in Budapest, in June 2017. Various conference topics are related to ecosystem services, including “Imitating and learning from nature”, “Ecosystem services: complexity, financialization, trade-offs, valuation”, “Natural resource management”, or “Biodiversity and ecosystem services in the policy arena”. The ACES 2016 Conference will take place December 5-9 2016. ACES 2016 is now recruiting student volunteers for various supporting roles including AV Operators, Moderator Assistants and Registration Assistants. Volunteers must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a subject area applicable to Ecosystem Services.
