Read on for recent developments in the ESP Brazil national network – news from BPBES, a PES project in Brazil, an upcoming conference and many new relevant publications.

Last month, São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), under the BIOTA Program, the Brazilian Platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (BPBES) and the Brazilian Plant-Pollinator Interactions Network (REBIPP) launched the Summary for Decision-makers of the 1st -Thematic Report on Pollinators, Pollination and Food Production in Brazil. Our thanks go to all who took part in the election – for nominating active and dynamic candidates from different backgrounds; for participating in the voting; and most of all – for running and accepting to sit on the committee and contribute your time and skills to ESP’s mission.

Summer School – Land Use and Ecosystem Change

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) will run an international Summer School on the topic of land use and ecosystem change during at the KITCampus Alpin, IMK-IFU (Garmisch-Partenkirchen), from 20-27 August 2019. Master and doctoral students are invited to learn about and discuss a wide range of issues related to ecosystem functioning, socio-ecological systems and land use change.
