One key objective of the ESP sectoral working on water (SWG 5–Ecosystem Services in Water Management) is to support the implementation and application of the ecosystem services focused projects globally. The co-lead to the working Group – Nidhi Nagabhatla, working with United Nations University – Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU INWEH), along with partners, mainly WaterFuture, recently launched a new initiative 2030 WaterSecure. The curtain raiser of the program was provided at the recently held World Water Forum in Brasilia.
One week training on Ecosystem Services Modeling
The International Spring University (ISU), an initiative of the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3), announces a 1-week training on Ecosystem Services Modeling. The training will take place from 8 – 12 October 2018 in Bilbao, Spain – just the week before the ESP Europe 2018 Conference.

This event is Our Future Water: Young Water Leaders’ first global event that invites all current leaders and future leaders to attend to achieve water security for today’s and future generations.

International Summer School, 9-13 July, Montpellier
Concepts and tools to engage in knowledge co-production and public participation
This summer school will take place in Montpellier, France between 9-13 July 2018. It is a 5-day interactive training course designed and organized by a small international team of experts – researchers and practitioners of participatory approaches. The training is based on “learning by doing” principle that makes it possible for the participants to test what they learn on-the-spot and get immediate feedback.
