2018 DMZ International Forum was held on 6-7 September in the Uijeongbu Arts Center with the topic of “Connecting People and Nature for Peace: Ecosystem Conservation and Sustainable Development in DMZ areas”. The ES Training Workshop “Valuing and Capturing the Benefits of Ecosystem Restoration” took place on 3 September in Seoul. This training was jointly organized by National Institute of Ecology and ESP Asia RO. Initiated by the project of the National Institute of Ecology, ESP Asia RO has been developing an ES training program targeting the Korean government officials. 2018 DMZ International Forum will be held on 6-7 Sept, in Gyeonggi province, Republic of Korea. This forum is jointly organized by Gyeonggi Provincial Government and ESP Asia Regional Office. The theme is “Connecting People and Nature for Peace : Protected Areas and Sustainable Development in DMZ areas”.
The international training on ecosystem management for sustainable development in transboundary areas held in Korea brought together scientist and professionals from Primorsky Krai Russia to seek out collaboration with Korean partners for ecosystem management in Northeast Asia. ESP Asia office organized this course together with the Gyeonggi-provincial government and invited selected participants from Russia Academy of Sciences, Far Eastern Federal University and local NGOs.
