Are you interested in advancing the planning and implementation of sponge landscapes in Europe?
Leibniz University Hannover is calling for applications for a PostDoc and a PhD position in Planning Resilient Landscapes to conduct research on nature-based solutions to address floods, droughts, and biodiversity change within the EU Horizon Europe project SpongeWorks. SpongeWorks will advance the upscaling of ‘sponge measures’ as nature-based solutions to boost the natural water retention capacity in Europe.
The positions are supervised by Christian Albert within the Landscape Planning and Ecosystem Services working group at Leibniz University Hannover, Institute of Environmental Planning.

Postdoc Vacancy: Monitoring, modelling, and managing ecosystem services across landscapes in Canada
There is an opening for a postdoctoral scholar to help build an Ecosystem Service Observatory System for Canada. The work will be part of the research carried out within the ResNet project on monitoring, modelling, and managing ecosystem services across landscapes in Canada. The position is supervised by Dr. Elena Bennett, in collaboration with Dr. Rich Sharp at Spring and Dr. Becky Chaplin-Kramer at WWF. The postdoc will be based at McGill’s Macdonald Campus in Montreal. We’re very excited about the possibilities in front of us with this project, and the postdoc has the potential to be at a really cool position at the heart of the work.

Junior Scientist on Resilience and Vulnerability of Ecosystem Services in Mediterranean Type Ecosystems
A permanent position as a junior scientist (Chargé de Recherche) will be open soon at INRAE Aix-en-Provence, France.
This position will be in the research unit UMR RECOVER based near Aix-en-Provence, within the team EMR (Ecosystèmes Méditerranéens et Risques/Mediterranean Ecosystems and Risks). The recruited person will have to develop researches on Resilience and Vulnerability of Ecosystem Services in Mediterranean Type Ecosystems, particularly in the context on climate change and fire risk.
