University Professorship in Planning for Biodiversity and Vegetation Development

The Institute of Environmental Planning at the Leibniz University Hannover invites applications for the following position starting as soon as possible: University Professorship (m/f/d) in Planning for Biodiversity and Vegetation Development

The Position
The professorship’s main areas of research and teaching are:

  • Scientific principles of planning-related conservation, restoration and establishment of natural and semi-natural vegetation in Central Europe.
  • Methods and objectives of species protection (flora) and biodiversity conservation and development.
  • Integration of scientific content into planning processes (environmental impact assessment, management and development plans) under the challenges of climate change.
  • Teaching is aimed at students of landscape architecture and environmental planning and, in addition to lectures on planning-related plant ecology, includes in particular mapping exercises in the field.

An exciting new multi-disciplinary project (ForES) is seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Researcher. This is a collaborative project with researchers in Trinity College Dublin and practitioners in Coillte. Research fellow: Developing ES based economic opportunities for Indigenous communities in northern Australia

The Research Institute for the Environment Livelihoods and (RIEL), Charles Darwin University is starting work on a Discovery Project “Developing ecosystem services based economic opportunities for Indigenous communities in northern Australia” funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC). The project aims to advance economic opportunities for Indigenous communities across Northern Australia by developing culturally appropriate ES economies.

As a Research Fellow, you will conduct and coordinate research activities under the supervision of the project leader and in collaboration with our research partners. You’ll contribute to the development of the project research plan, organise and conduct workshops, analyse data, ensure stakeholder engagement, write scientific reports and publications, and report back to the project stakeholders.
