Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystems and their Services (MAES), as part of the EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2020, is entering a new phase in the Outermost Regions and Overseas Countries and Territories of the European Union. On 22 May 2020 (coming Friday) we celebrate the Interational Day for Biological Diversity, kicking off the World Biodiversity Week. The International Day for Biological Diversity 2020 has the theme ‘Our Solutions are in Nature’ and for the first time will be celebrated through an online-only campaign.
