The International Journal of Biodiversity Science, Ecosystem Services & Management (IJBESM) will move to full open access from 26 September 2016 onwards. The journal responds to requests by most funders and policymakers, who want the work they fund available to everyone. The regular Article Publishing Charge (APC) will be €625 only. Full ESP members will receive a 15% discount on the APC. Manuscripts submitted before September 26th will, if accepted, become available open access for free. ACES 2016 is now recruiting student volunteers for various supporting roles including AV Operators, Moderator Assistants and Registration Assistants. Volunteers must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a subject area applicable to Ecosystem Services.

Stockholm Environment Institute, International Resource Panel (IRP) and the 10YFP Programme on Sustainable Food Systems are launching the Massive Open Online course “Food and Our Future: Sustainable Food Systems in Southeast Asia”. The course will take place from 8 August to 11 September.
Based on the IRP’s report Food Systems and Natural Resources and other sources, this MOOC will provide latest scientific information to help audiences understand:
- The value of using a food systems approach for improved management of natural resources in Southeast Asia
- Complex dynamics within food system activities, actors and outcomes in Southeast Asia and their implications for natural resource use
- Policy and biophysical options in the region to move towards more resource smart food systems
