First sessions announced for ECOSERV 2020

The Poland National Network has announced the first sessions registered for the ECOSERV 2020 – 6th Scientific Symposium “Ecosystem services in transdisciplinary approach”. The Symposium will take place on 6-8 July 2020 in Poznan, Poland. The ECOSERV 2020 will be focused on new research in ecosystem services, including the methods, tools, models and implementation. The 3rd ESP LAC Conference will take place on 25-27 November 2020 in Mexico City, Mexico under the theme Transcending the study of Ecosystem Services towards Transdiscipline and Incidence.

This conference calls on scientists, professionals, local stakeholders, NGOs, civil society and decision-makers in the region to share existing knowledge about ecosystem services, as well as transdisciplinary tools and experiences that can effectively influence sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Department of Earth System Science at the University of California, Irvine is looking for a self-motivated and qualified post-doctoral researcher to work on a collaborative, multi-benefit valuation project aimed at enhancing carbon storage in California’s natural lands. The candidate is expected to undertake spatial modeling and dynamic analysis to estimate the supply and value of ecosystem services, using GIS-based and statistical software and modeling platforms such as ArcGIS, R and InVEST.
